Iran was responding to threats issued by ISIL spokesman Abu
Mohammed al-Adnani, who vowed that the ISIL jihadists, who
have chalked up several conquests in Iraq from Mosul to Tikrit,
would not stop there but press on to Baghdad and to Najaf
and Karbala, site of the two most important Shia shrines,
which millions of pilgrims visit every year.
“We have a score to settle,” Mr. al-Adnani said in a video
statement, urging on the ISIL fighters. And the score must be
settled with the Shiites.
A senior security official of Iran, a Shia state, elaborated on Mr.
Rouhani’s message, accusing Saudi Arabia of being behind the
ISIL campaign. The Saudis, he said, are trying to take revenge
in Iraq for their failure to oust President Bashar al-Assad in Syria.
In an interview with the independent Al Mayadeen satellite news
channel, the official said the Saudis “will feel the heat soon.”
TURKEY AROUSED BY ISIL GAINS IN IRAQ
The threat of the ISIL militias in Mosul and Tikrit
threatens the Shi’ite men of Turkistan. Turkey is worried
that a mass migration may occur and is faced with forming
an alliance with the Kurds to counter the threat. The Kurds
have their own agenda of regaining the old region known
as Kurdistan. Saladin, who fought the Crusaders under the
British king Richard the Lion Heart, came from that area.
If, as the above enclosed section suggests, an alliance of
Turkey, Kurdistan, Iraq and Iran eventuates, the Ancient
Assyrian Empire will be reborn! See the following map.
IS IRAN THE ‘KING OF THE NORTH’?
The attitude of Iran’s recent ayatollahs has been
extremely hostile toward Israel, prompting SOT to
suggest that Iran could fulfill the words of Daniel 8:24-
25 of a leader from that region who would oppose Israel.
Daniel 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own
power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and
practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. 25 And
through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand;
and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall
destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of
princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Daniel chapter 8 concerns the Persian and Greek empires.
Israel’s enemy mentioned must come from those regions.
The present antagonism between Israel and Iran has been
sustained over a number of years now, and it is obvious
that we are living in “The Time of the End” mentioned in
Daniel chapter 11:40 which it mentions “many ships.
No other nation is in the position to threaten any nation
in that region with “many ships” as can Iran who has a
mighty armada of battleships, submarines and motor
torpedo boats, as well as minesweepers and other craft.
Their torpedo boats are as long as Captain Cook’s ship
“Endeavour” (43 m), so are entitled to be called “ships.”
THE SAUDI/ GULF STATES/ EGYPT COALITION
The Sunni militias are being funded by Saudi Arabia
and the Gulf States with the exception of Qatar. The
present situation is fast getting to an explosive stage where
“something has to give!” The ISIL forces have attacked
the southern oil wells of Iraq – a situation which Iran is
unlikely to tolerate and Iran has already warned of military
action against the ISIL and its Sunni-Saudi promoters.
Iraq has appealed to the United States for bombers to
check the ISIL advance in the north to save Bagdad and
may request intervention at the oil wells.
Saudi Arabia has poured $billions into Egypt to save
Egypt from bankruptcy. Egypt has responded by
supporting the Saudi-Gulf coalition and recently joined in
the huge military exercises which took place last month.
This situation appears to the writer to be fulfilling the
words in Daniel 11:40 – “at the time of the end shall the
king of the south push at him.”
However, do the successes of ISIL in Mosul and Tikrit
indicate the same for verse 44: “tidings out of the east and
out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth
with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many?”
From the viewpoint of Jerusalem the location would be
“tidings out of the east and out of the north!” It may be so!
This we can be sure of – it won’t take long to find out!
WHY ISRAEL IS SHIFTING EASTWARD?
Haaretz 26-may-14
Europe's stagnation, legacy of anti-Semitism, and constant
condemnation of Israeli policies set it apart from East Asia.
Slowly but surely Israel is pivoting toward the East. Years ago that
would have been a most unexpected development. After all, most
of Israel’s population originated from Europe, and most of its
leadership had its roots in Europe. For many years Israel might
have been considered, for better or for worse, an outpost of
Europe in the Middle East. Whether Europe loved Israel or hated
Israel, Europe remained Israel’s closest connection to Western
civilization. But a change is taking place. Israel’s prime minister
has visited China and Japan, and it is a fair bet that he will visit
India in the near future. Who knows, Korea may even be next.
On reflection this is not totally unexpected. For many years the
economic development of the countries in East Asia has been
outpacing the economic development of Europe. Japan made
giant strides in the years after World War II. South Korea followed
suit. China has become the economic wonder of the twenty-first
century. There are, as well, indications of accelerated economic
development in India, the world’s largest democracy. It is natural
that Israel’s economic relationship with these countries would
begin to rival its relationships with the countries of Europe, a
Europe which seems to be in permanent economic crisis and
lagging behind the Asian tigers.
But that is not the only reason for this turn to the East by Israel.
Europe is the graveyard of European Jewry. They were
slaughtered in the killing fields of the Soviet territories, now
Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, and Ukraine, that the German
army occupied during Operation Barbarossa. They were gassed
in the industrialized killing installations established on Polish soil.
Almost all of Europe was involved, directly or indirectly, in the
murderous scheme to exterminate the Jewish people. [Abridged]
THE TIME OF THE END – AND BEYOND
This we can expect, as the first wave of predicted attacks
against Israel will be Arabic {Joel 1-3; Psalm 83; Zech.
14; Ezek.35-36; Daniel 11:40-45}; the second wave after
Christ establishes the Kingdom will be the Gogian host
comprising mainly European nations aided by Islam:
(Iran, Ethiopia and Libya) {Ezekiel 38-39; Revel.19}. It
will be some time into the Kingdom Age that the Dragon
(Pagan/Eastern) nations attack and are defeated by the
armies of Jesus Christ –the King of kings, Lord of lords.
All this turmoil has accelerated since the first “Blood
Moon.” What will happen before the next? (October 9th)
“Even so, Come! Lord Jesus.
