Daniel 11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south
push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like
a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many
ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and

THE TIME OF THE END
The first issues of SOT were written in 1989 and for the
past 25 years warned of the part that Iran will play at “The
Time of the End.” Below is a short extract from May 1998:
Iran has unveiled its three Russian built Submarines
(formerly owned by East Germany) which it is at present
using in manoeuvres in the Gulf. Iran has asked the US to
remove its fleet from the Gulf as Iran considers itself to
be the guardian of the Straits of Hormuz. However, The
Arab Emirates are wary of Iran’s intentions and have
asked the US to stay! (Cp. Daniel 11:30-45).
 “A lot of water has passed under the bridge” since SOT
first linked Iran (Persia) with the prophecy of Daniel 11.
SOT has consistently maintained that Iran/Iraq is the
“king of the north” and that Iran will sweep across Saudi
Arabia to attack Egypt and then attack the State of Israel.
SADDAM HUSSEIN and THE GULF WAR
 The Gulf War (2 August 1990 – 28 February 1991),
codenamed Operation Desert Shield (2 August 1990 - 17
January 1991), for operations leading to the build-up of
troops and defense of Saudi Arabia and Operation Desert
Storm (17 January 1991 – 28 February 1991) was a war
waged by coalition forces from 34 nations led by the United
States against Iraq in response to Iraq's invasion and
annexation of Kuwait. [Wikipedia]
 Two weeks into the conflict, 17th August, 1990, Saddam
threatened to destroy Israel with Scud Missiles. A total of
74 Israelis died as a result of the 41 Iraqi scud attacks: two
directly and the rest from suffocation and heart attacks.
Approximately 230 Israelis were injured.
On 29 January, Iraqi forces attacked and occupied the
lightly defended Saudi city of Khafji with tanks and infantry.
The Battle of Khafji ended two days later when the Iraqis
were driven back by the Saudi Arabian National Guard,
supported by Qatari forces and U.S. Marines. [Wikipedia]
The war against Israel lasted exactly 5 months as exactly
foretold in remarkable detail in Revelation 9:9-10.
9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of
iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of
chariots of many horses running to battle. 10 And they
had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in
their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.
 The similarities between a mobile scud rocket launcher
and the silhouette of a scorpion about to strike are not
difficult to see. The rest of The Fifth Trumpet continues
the similarities with “the smoke of a great furnace; and
the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke
of the pit” describing the burning oil wells – and the use
of the word “locusts” describing the Iraqi army, as the
Hebrew word for Arab is similar [Revelation 9:1-12].
 THE KINGS OF NORTH and SOUTH
 And so began the series of wars which have armed the
Middle East with modern weapons and raised the
animosity between those Islamic peoples who hold
divergent ideologies – the Shi’ites versus the Sunnis!
Iran has championed the Shi’ites and Saudi Arabia the
Sunnis – and so the present situation is the volatile result
